This document governs the use of LFA laser calibration systems and related engineering services provided under the Radiation Emitting Devices Act (Canada).
LFA provides laser-based alignment and calibration systems for hydrotechnic steel pipe welding. Services include system design, installation, on-site calibration, and compliance documentation under REDA. No clinical, medical, or healthcare applications are covered by these terms.
All equipment is classified as industrial laser products under Schedule II of the Radiation Emitting Devices Act. Use is restricted to qualified personnel in industrial welding environments.
The client must ensure that all personnel operating LFA systems hold appropriate laser safety training and that the installation site meets the emission control requirements specified in the system manual.
The client is responsible for retaining calibration records for a minimum of 7 years as required by Canadian industrial radiation safety regulations.
LFA’s liability for any claim arising from the use of its systems shall not exceed the purchase price of the specific product giving rise to the claim. LFA is not liable for indirect damages, including production downtime, weld defects caused by improper installation, or non-compliance with client-specific welding procedures.
This limitation applies regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort, or strict liability.
All LFA laser products are certified under the Radiation Emitting Devices Act. The client must not modify the laser emitter, safety interlocks, or optical path without written authorization from LFA. Unauthorized modifications void the REDA compliance certificate and transfer full regulatory liability to the client.
Either party may terminate the service agreement with 30 days written notice. Upon termination, the client must return all LFA-provided calibration tools and documentation within 14 days. LFA reserves the right to terminate immediately if the client is found to be operating a system outside its certified parameters.
Termination does not relieve the client of obligations related to data retention or pending payments.
LFA may update these terms at any time. Registered clients will receive written notice at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the system after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
